Miami Merger Engagement Session | Oxford, Ohio Wedding Photographer
In the midst of peak wedding season I got a little behind on blogging, but it’s never too late! So I figured I’d put together a post from this adorable engagement session last year at my ~kidna~ alma malter, Miami University! (I say kinda because I didn’t graduate from there, but it was nostalgic nonetheless!)
Ok, but what is a Miami Merger?
Incase you’ve never heard of the term – allow me to break it down for you! When two Miami alumni get married, they become a Miami Merger! So cute, right? As Miami puts it, “When two hearts beat as one and both attended Miami, it’s a Miami Merger.” And one of Miami’s oldest traditions is kissing your loved one under the Upham Arch at midnight. It didn’t make sense for us to wait around until midnight for this engagement session, but we made sure to get some cute snaps of these Miami Mergers under the Upham Arch during their engagement session! They seriously rocked it, I loved their giggles and playful attitudes and the entire engagement session was just FUN. I can’t wait for their summer wedding this year, and I’ll leave you with a few fun quotes that they had to say about each other before sharing these beautiful engagement photos from our session at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio!
Describe your relationship as a couple:
We balance each other out pretty well – Lexi is more organized and type A, while Ben likes to go with the flow. We really love to have fun together and joke around.
Tell me about yourselves; what do you like to do together?
We love to spend time outside like hiking and kayaking. We love to try new restaurants. We enjoying cooking together and watching various TV shows (especially ones Guy Fieri).
Tell me about your love story. What trials and tribulations have shaped you into who you are as a couple today?
We met in college at Miami on Green Beer day and have been together ever since! We have supported each other through some really tough times, which helped strength our relationship significantly.
What’s something you do together that’s meaningful or different?
Something that’s really meaningful to us is when we go on hikes. We always have really great, meaningful conversations during those and get the added bonus of some fresh air! We are also very open with each other.
How do you want to feel when you look back at these photos in 20 years?
We would love to have pictures that capture how much fun we have together. I’d love some genuine, fun pictures with a few romantic ones mixed in. We want to look back at these pictures and feel the joy and laughter.
