When I photograph a typical wedding day, I almost always start with the small detail items from the bride and groom. This is a nice way to really set the tone for the day, make sure all of the thoughtful details are photographed, and really round out the gallery for a cohesive overall look. If you’re here, you may be wondering just what you should include in your wedding day detail items, so here’s some of my suggestions!
Some good examples of items to include are:
- Your invitation suite (I recommend bringing at least two envelopes for styling purposes)
- Save the Dates
- A sentimental ring box
- Rings (all three!)
- Jewelry
- Earrings, necklace, etc.
- This includes heirloom jewelry!
- Decorations and other items you’re using during your wedding day
- Your menu, program, and small items that will be used to decorate the reception area
- Your veil
- Your shoes
- Your bouquet
- Your perfume
- Your Groom’s boutonniere
- Floral trimmings
- Any other sentimental items
- I’ve seen items such as: welcome gifts, old pocket watches, sentimental handkerchiefs, and more! Feel free to be creative!
And remember, if you and your groom would like a flat-lay of his things, a lot of the same items apply! Some others you may consider for your guy are:
- His shoes
- Dress socks
- Tie or bow-tie
- Cuff-links
- His cologne
- Boutonniere
- Any custom gift such as cuff-links, a watch, bourbon, etc.
