When it comes to bespoke wedding stationery, there’s an endless sea of options to choose from in today’s trends. To name just a few, there’s hand-written calligraphy, acrylic and vellum accents, botanical details, painted venue maps, letterpress and more. Today I’d like to present to you one of my favorite wedding trends: handmade paper wedding invitations.
What is handmade paper?
Handmade paper is simply paper, that is really handmade. The deckled, imperfect edges and rough surface make it appear vintage, and it’s so eye-catching even with the simplest of designs. It gives a classic premium touch to any wedding paper details, and it’s my favorite type of paper as a fine art photographer.
Why choose handmade paper for my invitations?
So why choose handmade paper? Handmade paper can be printed, foiled, or even letterpressed, and makes the perfect background for any wedding invitation design and theme. There is a wonderful texture that is created through the paper making process which gives it a tactile touch, and when the paper dries the edges the edges are fluffy and uneven, giving the most unique look.
