Downtown Cleveland and Cleveland Art Museum Engagement Session
Recently I had the pleasure of driving on up to Cleveland, Ohio and meeting Kionna and John for the first time for their engagement session! They are just the sweetest couple, I knew from our initial phone call last year that they would be amazing to work with and I was right! The pair actually live on the West Coast, but they are getting married in Indiana in the summer of this year. So how did we end up in Cleveland? Well, they we’re visiting family and it was only a few hours drive for me, so basically it was meant to be.
The Cleveland Art Museum in Cleveland, Ohio | Engagement Session Location 1
The vision for their big day is everything garden-themed, and will be at a Garden venue in Indiana, so we wanted to do something almost completely different for their engagement session. We wanted to go with somewhere that would give us a clean, modern background and go for more of that city vibe to contrast with their garden wedding. After some research, I offered that we start outside the Cleveland Art Museum and they agreed! It ended up being perfect because the Cleveland Art Museum is made out of the most gorgeous white stone, and with the slightly overcast day it reflected perfectly on the two of them. It also matched the vibe of their first outfits so well, it was elegant and timeless, and honestly it’s definitely staying on my list for engagement spots in Cleveland.
Terminal Tower in Cleveland, Ohio | Engagement Session Location 2
After a quick outfit change, we headed to Terminal Tower, aka the second highest building in Cleveland! One of John’s old friends works there and was able to get us on one of the highest parts of the roof for some crazy cool views, however we we’re only up there for a quick minute because the wind was pretty ferocious and it was already a little chilly out. But those photos turned out so cool, and it was so different than what I normally get to photograph at engagement sessions! After our chilly rooftop adventure we ended the session in the lobby because the architecture was just too neat not to play around with. I especially loved our little cheeky moment in the elevator – this engagement session was truly a vibe, and I’m just so happy with the results!
Kionna and John, thank you so much for spending some time and braving the chilly Northern Ohio weather with me! I absolutely loved getting to know you both better and I can’t wait for your big day in July!
